Fishing Stories

This is a story about me and my buddy Tom. During the summer time before work, we would usually get up around 4 o'clock in the morning to go fishing. We would start off with stripers and work our way to fluke and blues. Well this particular morning we made out awesome. It was a perfect morning, no clouds, no wind, as we left the inlet we could see dolphins jumping out of the water, it was perfect. We anchored our boat off a jetty by Manasquan Beach. We started fishing for stripers using frozen clams. The lines weren't in the water for longer then 5 minutes before we started catching fish. All told we caught about 6 stripers that day, yet only two were keepers. Tom made out with the trophy fish. See the picture below. He is the tall kid on the left and I am the one on the right holding the pathetic looking fish. Looks are deceiving though. My fish was a good 30 inches it just looks small because of the beauty Tom caught. Anyway, after the stripers stopped hitting, we caught a couple of keeper fluke and tooled around with some bluefish. We kept the stripers and fluke and threw back the bluefish (they taste terrible). All in all that was our most productive day.

Send me your fishing stories and i will post them...
