Salt Water Fishing in New Jersey

I live in the small coastal town of Brielle, New Jersey. Ever since the town was founded in the early 1800's, fishing has been not only a big business but also the hobby of countless number of sport fishermen of all ages. My town is located on the Manasquan River. It has become the home base for thousands of recreational and professional fishermen. It is also a fertile fishing ground itself.

The Atlantic Ocean that lies adjacent to it is a haven for small and big game anglers alike. My town and the immediate surrounding area used to be considered the sportfishing capital of the East Coast. Big fish after big fish was pulled from the depths of The Canyon and the Mud Flats. Subsequent overfishing has lowered the productivity of the fisheries in the area, but the fishing is still some of the best in the nation.
